Social Media Campaign Guide

Developed for Halifax Cycling Coalition Spring 2021 The Halifax Cycling Coalition (HCC) actively helps promote cycling as a safe, comfortable and easy way to travel around the city and to the surrounding areas. At the same time, they are committed to pushing for better conditions in Halifax as it continues on the path to have an all ages and abilities (AAA) cycling network so no matter what stage of the cycling journey, all Haligonians can confidently choose cycling as how they travel.

As a part of their campaign to educate and encourage the residents of Halifax to cycle, in 2020 the HCC developed the Halifax Cycling Handbook. The well laid out and easy to read booklet covers all aspects of riding a bike safely and comfortably, at any stage of life. To help promote the hard work already done to create this booklet, this campaign strategy has been developed.

The purpose of this strategy is to help HCC publicise all the benefits of cycling contained within the Cycling Handbook, valuable tips to traveling by bike in Halifax, and help demystify common misconceptions of the potential of the bicycle.
